Parson's turbine is an Impulse-reaction turbine. I dont think there will be turbine called simple-reaction turbine.
If the degree of reaction =R=1: Pure reaction turbine
if R=0: Impulse turbine
if R-value is in between 0 and 1 then the turbine is Impulse-Reaction turbine.
if R=0.5: parson's reaction turbine.
If the degree of reaction =R=1: Pure reaction turbine
if R=0: Impulse turbine
if R-value is in between 0 and 1 then the turbine is Impulse-Reaction turbine.
if R=0.5: parson's reaction turbine.

Parson is both Impulse and Reaction turbines. 50% impulse & 50% reaction.
