Using interpolation:

15---->280.

20----->x.

35----->520.

Where x is the steam consumption at 20 kw.

(20-15)/(x-280) = (35-15)/(520-280).

5/20 = (x-280)/(240).

x = 280+60 = 340.

y=mx+c;

Here y = Rate of mass of steam;

m = ip;

So 280 = 15a+b;
520 = 35a+b;

Solving a=12; b=100.

Option A and B which are less than 280 eliminated. 280 cannot be the answer because it produces 15kw. So answer should be D.
