The draught produced by a steam jet issuing from a nozzle placed in the chimney is called induced draught.

In this system, steam is injected into the chimney, creating a partial vacuum which helps draw more air through the furnace, enhancing combustion. This method is commonly used in steam boilers to improve efficiency by facilitating the movement of air and flue gases through the combustion chamber and out of the chimney.
