A fuel-heated boiler must provide air to oxidize its fuel. Early boilers provided this stream of air, or drought, through the natural action of convection in a chimney connected to the exhaust of the combustion chamber.

Since the heated flue gas is less dense than the ambient air surrounding the boiler, the flue gas rises in the chimney, pulling denser, fresh air into the combustion chamber.

Boiler draught is defined as the small difference between the pressure of outside cold atmospheric air and that of gases within a furnace or chimney. The draught is necessary to force air through the fuel grate to help in proper combustion of fuel and to remove the products of combustion.

I think in process of combustion; drought means from suction to exhaust as in a first step air and fuel ratio is sucked and then after power accomplishment, from exhaust all flue gases were leave the chimney.

Draught means partial pressure between atom to the chimney. Sufficient air to be needed for complete combustion, after combustion elve gas to be exhaust. So we have balance the pressure.

Draught producing mainly two types.

One is mechanical & second is natural. Mechanical draught is producing by using an induced fan which sucks flue gases take place in the chimney.

I think the answer D is correct because all the options serve the purpose for a draught.
