Burninshing- makes a glazed or finished surface in steel, ci or nonferrous hole, burnishing teeth are round and do not cut metal but compress and rub the surface metal.

In broach, first teeth are roughing, then semifinishing, finishing. Sometimes a few burnishing teeth are provided after finishing teeth.

Some circular broaches, burnishing teeth are provided instead of finishing teeth. They are not really teeth, as they are just rounded discs that are 0.001 to 0.003 in (0.025 to 0.076 mm) oversized. This results in burnishing the hole to the proper size.

Burnishing only concern about Circular broaches.

Broaching tool has 3 types of teeths i.e. rough teeths, semifinishing teeths and finishing teeths. The rear teeths are finishing teeths so the material removal is less or minimum.

Burnishing = is the plastic deformation of a surface due to sliding contact with another object. Visually, burnishing smears the texture of a rough surface and makes it shinier.

Option c is incorrect, d is correct, rear teeth are used for finishing. Rough teeth are used for removing metal.

Answer is B. As the rear teeths are finishing teeth so they remove very less amount of material.

Rear teeth larger than front teeth so obviously rear teeth remove maximum material.

The rear tooths do the finishing work. Option C is wrong and A is correct.

Option C is the correct answer as rear teeth are for finishing purpose.
