Jigs-hold , locate & guide the workpiece.
Fixture-only hold & locate the workpiece.
Jigs are used for holding & guiding the tool in drilling, reaming & tapping operation.
Fixture are used for holding the work in milling, grinding, planning & turning operation.

A fixture supports the work piece where as the jig supports the work piece and also guides the cutting tool so option A is correct.
