Glazing- when the cutting edge of a grinding wheel takes a glass like appearance due to wear of abrasive grains then it is called glazing of the grinding wheel.

It decreases the rate of grinding.

The glazing in grinding in grinding wheel takes place when is too hard or it revolve it very high speed thus glazing may be decreased by using a softer wheel or decreasing the wheel speed.

Hard material grinding with hard wheel only rubbing take place material is not remove called glazing or also called as blunt ing of grain of wheel, to reduce this problem dressing is taking place.

But it sounds counter intuitive. Harder wheels are less prominent to wear.
