Honing (abrasive process) ----used for sizing and finishing bored holes as well as can be employed to flat surfaces.

Reaming (non-abrasive process) ----used for sizing and finishing drilled holes lapping--abrasive surface finishing process---amount of material removed in order of 0. 001 inches which is considerably smaller than that of material removed in honing and reaming--lapping also can be employed for both flat surface and holes (basically preferred for surface finishing).

As in question mentioned that diameter of hole is very small#i think given answer is correct.

Lapping is an external finishing operation while honing is an internal. So all the options talking about internal dimension should be rolled out. So option B which is talking about"around a hole" should be a proper selection here but not the best answer.

The lapping operation is used for finishing or smoothing flat surfaces and Honing is used for finishing holes, it is the last operation for finishing holes.

Ramming is used for sizing and finishing a small diameter hole & lapping is used for finishing the flat surface, gear & other things.

Based on information what I have, sizing and finishing a small diameter hole is related to honing operation. This is what I think?

Lapping is surface finishing process. Reaming is the method for sizing and finishing a small diameter hole.

Honing is used for finishing internal cylindrical surfaces such as drilled holes.

Option C is wrong. The option that's close to the correct answer is option B.

Option B is correct because lapping is process of smoothing and reduce wear.

Smoothing and squaring the surface around a hole is the right answer.
