Why it can't be side relief angle?

Mohit said:   8 years ago
In this question, it is not mention that it will side flank or end flank. So the answer will be side and end relief angle.

I also agree @Mohit. The question is not complete. It must mention which flank, side or end flank.

I also agree @Abhijit.

Option D correct.

I think it's side rake angle, relief angle is same to clearance angle.

Side relief angle should be the answer.

End relief angle is the correct answer. Why does one have a doubt on this? There is only a single possible line from the cutting point perpendicular to the base. If measured from the side flank, the angle between this line and the surface of the side flank is easily the END RELIEF ANGLE. If measured from the end flank, we cannot say we get Side relief angle if the angle between this line and the end flank surface is measured. Rather, the side relief angle is only when the angle between this line from a point perpendicular to the base and the projection of end flank to the plane containing this line is measured.
