Shocks allows bolt to move axially or vertically it causes thread to brake.

Resilience is the amount of energy stored, sudden shock avoids breakage of thread.

The cross sectional area is minimum at the thread.

Resilience is the ability of a material to absorb energy when deformed elastically and to release this energy when unloaded.

In bolts the thread acts as lund.

In threads, the cross secton is minimum as well as the stress concentration is also there so there is chances to break at the threads.
