We use unwin's formula in this case d=6* square root of t.

If t>8, diameter,d= 6 * Squareroot(t).
If t<8, equating shearing resistance to the crushing resistance of the rivets.
If t<8, equating shearing resistance to the crushing resistance of the rivets.
