There will be a longitudinal as well as circumferential (hoop) stress will be induced.
It will also generate Radial stress but it is not considered due to negligible magnitude.
All three stresses are perpendicular to each other. Say X Y Z DIRECTION.
X longitudinal.
Y circumferential.
Z radial.

The Vessel could be considered to have closed ends and contains a fluid under a gauge pressure p. Then the walls of the cylinder will have a longitudinal stress as well as a circumferential stress.

If it is open then only hoop stress if close then both.

When closed than 1 when open than 2?

Single stress may not be possible in any case when both ends closed so both longitudinal and circumferential stress will induce.
