What is the difference between yield strength & elastic strength?

Elastic strength is the strength of the material up to which elastic deformation takes place by the application of load and regain its original position after unloading.
Yield strength is the strength beyond which permanent deformation takes place. Also we can say that yield strength is the point below which elastic deformation takes place and beyond which plastic deformation takes place.

What is a shear strength? Any relations like Soderberg for other two?

The Goodman relation also called a Goodman diagram, a Goodman-Haigh diagram, a Haigh diagram or a Haigh-Soderberg diagram, is an equation used to quantify the interaction of mean and alternating stresses on the fatigue life of a material. The equation is typically presented as a graph of (linear) mean stress vs.

@Suni.
Soderberg criteria or line is defined as the straight line joining (Se) on the stress amplitude axis and (Syt) on the mean stress axis.
The triangular region below the Soderberg line is considered safe for infinite life. - (σm / Syt) + (σa / Se) = (1 / Nf) is the equation for Soderberg line.
