For curved beam.

Ymax is for inside fibre.

As it is symmetrical section Max bending stress is at an inner or outer surface.

Bending stress = (E/R)*y where y=distance of the surface from the neutral axis.

It should be on outer fibre. Bending stress is maximum close to surface.
