The objective of supercharging is to increase the charge density of the working medium (air or air-fuel mixture) , by any means and with the help of a suitable system, before it enters the work cylinder, i.e., to precompress the charge. In doing so, the temperature of the working medium should not be markedly raised, since this would adversely influence the temperature profile of the high-pressure work cycle.

Super charging is the process of increase the power output by increase the inlet pressure of the air to the CI engines during suction stroke. It does not response to the size and shape of the engine.

It is the process of supplying greater mass of air to engine cylinder by compressing intake air initially with a view to obtain high power.

Option C is correct is as more mass of air will help in combustion therefore more fuel is burnt thus increasing the power of the engine.

Super charger will no way reduce the space occupied by the engine. It will be an additional weight to the power hub.

Supercharger is only used for increasing the power engine, not for another purpose. So C is the correct answer.

There is no logic to use the supercharger to reduce space occupied by the engine.

D is correct options because supercharger is connected with engine.

I think C is correct because SC engines occupies more space.

@Karthickkumar.

ABS means the Anti-Breaking System.
