It depends on the types of engine!.
For Petrol engine increment of intake, temperature causes knocking and decreases the efficiency of the engine.
For Diesel or Dual engine, it is very important to increase the intake temperature of air for better efficiency of the engine!

That's why we use intercooler on it.

The efficiency of otto cycle=1-(T4-T1)/(T3-T2).
IF T1 decreases then efficiency decreases.
IF T1 decreases then efficiency decreases.

For that purpose, we are using charged air cooler and aftercooler to gain more oxygen density. It will decrease efficiency.
So, the correct Answer is C.
So, the correct Answer is C.

1) If increases intake temperature density of air decrease so less air is available for combustion of fuel.
2) if increases intake temperature then the more work is required to compress the air Resulting efficiency is decreases.
2) if increases intake temperature then the more work is required to compress the air Resulting efficiency is decreases.
