As the number of moving parts (i.e mechanical parts) in a 2 stroke engine are less than that of a 4 stroke engine, mechanical efficiency is higher.

Valves are replaced by ports. So no need of camshaft, push rod, valve tappet, rocker arm, hence mechanical efficiency increases.

What is the reason behind for stroke engine if more power and efficiency are developed in 2 stroke engine then why they make 4 stroke cycle engine?

Because in two stroke power stroke obtained in every revolution of crankshaft. So that heat generated is more, engine components life becomes less. For that purpose they make a four stroke engine.

Also, the thermal efficiency of the four stroke engine is higher compared to 2 stroke engine.

Because four stroke engine has one power stroke for every 720 degrees rotation of the crankshaft, whereas two stroke engine will produce a power stroke for every 360-degree rotation. So, the power generated is approximately double in two strokes than in four strokes.

In two stroke cycle engine every power stroke complete one revolution of crank shafts. But four stroke cycle engine every power stroke complete two revolution of crank shafts.
