If the jet, after contraction, does not touch the sides of the mouthpiece, it is said to be running free. It has been experimentally found that if the length of the mouthpiece extending into the fluid is less than 3 times the diameter of the orifice, it will run free.
If the jet, after contraction, expands and fills up the whole mouthpiece, it is said to be running full. If the length of the mouthpiece is more than 3 times the diameter of the orifice, it will run full.

Free = equal to the diameter or less than three times.
Full = equal to three times or more than three times.

Answer should be equal to Option A is the nearest to Diameter D.
So, I prefer A.
                So, I prefer A.

The length of the mouthpiece is equal to the diameter, if it is running free.

I think the answer is equal diameter of the orifice. Am I right?
