 Shashank said: (Sep 28, 2015) Cd = Cc X Cv = 1 X 0.855 = 0.855.

Ankit said: (Jan 21, 2016) What is Cc?

Ayush said: (Feb 2, 2016) Coefficient of contraction.

Harsh said: (Jul 26, 2016) @Ankit. Cc is the coefficient of contraction.

Anil said: (Jan 15, 2017) @Ankit. Cc is the coefficient of contraction.

Shubham Soni said: (Jan 24, 2017) For External mouthpiece Cd = 0.855. For internal mouthpiece (Running free) = 0.5. For internal mouthpiece ( Running Full) = 0.707. For convergent-divergent mouthpiece = 1.

Kirti said: (Aug 7, 2017) Cv is cofficient of velocity.

Madhu said: (May 4, 2018) What is mouth piece?

Sara .F Mustafa said: (Jun 7, 2018) A mouthpiece is a short tube of length not more than two to three times its diameter, which is fitted to a tank for measuring discharge of the flow from the tank. By fitting the mouthpiece, the discharge through an orifice of the tank can be increased. Mouthpieces are classified on the basis of their shape, position and discharge conditions. According to the shape, they may be classified as, cylindrical, convergent, divergent and convergent-divergent. Based on the positions, they may be external or internal mouthpieces with respect to reservoir/tank to which it is connected. An external mouthpiece projects outside the tank whereas the internal mouthpiece projects inside the tank. On the basis of discharge conditions, they may be classified as running full and running free mouthpieces.

Sandra said: (Feb 17, 2019) Why the ideal value of the coefficient of contraction is 1 for the mouthpiece? Please explain.

Venkatesh Rudru said: (Aug 30, 2020) The pressure difference between the upstream end if the cone and the throat is measured and provides the signal for the rate of flow. Because of the gradual reduction in the area, there is no vena contracta and the flow area is a minimum at the throat so that the coefficient of contraction is unity.
