Manometer is used to measure high pressure of liq, vaccum pressures, pressure in pipes and channels. And differential manometer is used to measure diff of prssures bw two points in a pipe.
Piezometer is simplest form of mano meter nd used for measuring moderate pressure of liq.

Manometer is needed for measuring large gauge pressures. It is basically the modified form of the piezometric tube.
