When the pressure intensity at a point is more than the local atmospheric pressure, then the difference of these two pressures is called "POSITIVE GAUGE PRESSURE".
When the pressure intensity at a point is less than the local atmospheric pressure, then the difference of these two pressures is called "NEGATIVE GAUGE PRESSURE".
When the pressure intensity at a point is less than the local atmospheric pressure, then the difference of these two pressures is called "NEGATIVE GAUGE PRESSURE".

Gauge pressure is classified in two parts.
Positive gauge pressure and negative gauge pressure.
Positive gauge pressure is pressure measured by gauge above atmosphere pressure.
Negative gauge pressure is also know as vacuum pressure which is when pressure is measured by gauge below the atmospheric pressure.
