                The Froude's number, Fr, is a dimensionless value that describes different flow regimes of open channel flow. 
The Froude's number is a ratio of inertial and gravitational forces.
Gravity (numerator) - Moves water downhill.
Inertia (denominator) - Reflects its willingness to do so.
Fr = v/(g l)1/2.
Where,
Fr = Froude's number.
v = Velocity.
g = Gravity.
l = Characteristic length.
When:
Fr = 1, critical flow,
Fr > 1, super critical flow (fast rapid flow),
Fr < 1, sub critical flow (slow / tranquil flow).
