The axial pump is a pump in which fluid flows axially to the rotation of the propeller. In Axial flow, the fluid flows parallel to the axis of rotation, as in a turbine. Axial flow pump contains a propeller or centrifugal impeller in the casing.
Axial Flow Pump is preferred for flood control and irrigation applications.

@Yash Bro Kaplan is a turbine, not a pump. You don't req mechanical motion in cases of irrigation and flood XD.

As when we talk about irrigation. We require low head & higher speed pump. This condition is only satisfied in Kaplan turbine which is axial flow reation turbine.

Axial flow is the right answer as in question it's mentioned "for very high discharge ".
