I think, in a centrifugal pump, the water enters the impeller through eye in axially and leaves vanes radially.

In a centrifugal pump water enters radial only. If axial means, where it is used.

Please note, based on the type of the impeller in case if it is axial impeller the liquid will be delivered in axial only.
