Conflict is that the Thermal diffusivity of mercury is lesser than that of copper but greater than oak wood.

For Hg=4.53*10^-6.
For Cu=113*10^-6.
For Oakwood=0.013*10^-6.

So it's difficult to conclude the thermal diffusivity relationship b/w solid and liquid but for understanding purposes liquid has a higher t.d. than solid

I think A is the answer, as we think about mean free path, I don't think Solid has a number of mean free path than those of liquid and gases so Option A should be the correct one.
