Ixx and Iyy = (π/64 )*(D^4 - d^4) for hollow circular shaft.

Ixx and Iyy = πD^4/64. and Izz=πD^4/32.

Moment about z-axis = (moment about x-axis + moment about y-axis).
Since moment about x-axis = moment about y-axis.
moment about z-axis = 2(moment about x-axis).
Therefore, moment about x-axis = (moment about z-axis)/2.

And as we know moment about z-axis = πD^4/32
Therefore for a circular section moment about x-axis = πD^4/64.

MOI of solid shaft is πD^4/32, Then it should be π(D^4-d^4)/32.

Answer is correct because it is not indicated that the perpendicular of an axis if it telling that a perpendicular to axis then answer C.

The answer is D, the moment of inertia about an axis in the plane is D.

While the moment of inertia about an axis perpendicular to the plane and passing through the centre would be C.

Yes, the answer should be c.
