The principle of transmissibility of forces states that, when a force acts upon a body, its effect is
same at every point on its line of action
different at different points on its line of action
minimum, if it acts at the centre of gravity of the body

Can anyone explain how it is correct?

The correct Answer is A.

Principle of Transmissibility of Forces is applicable for rigid bodies only.

Badal said:   7 years ago
Yes, A is the answer.

I think the Answer should be option A.

Answer must be option A. Here didn't mention type of body but in engineering mechanics we concern with rigid body only.

According to the principle of transmissibility, if we changed the force with another force of same magnitude and direction along the same line of action of previous force at any point on the body, doesn't affect the status or position of the body and according to this, option A is right.
