The time period of oscillation for a simple pendulum = T = 2π√ L/g.
Time period for compound pendulum = T = 2π√I/mgh,
equating both we get;
2π√ L/g = 2π√I/mgh.
L = I/mh = mka^²+mh^²/mh.
Time period for compound pendulum = T = 2π√I/mgh,
equating both we get;
2π√ L/g = 2π√I/mgh.
L = I/mh = mka^²+mh^²/mh.

1/2π(√g/l) for a simple pendulum and for he tcompound pendulum is 1/2π(√gh/k^2*h^2).
