Yes it can, because of center of percussion.

Because sometimes center of oscillation is termed as center of percussion.

Center of suspension and center of percussion are interchangeable.

That's why center of oscillation and center of suspension are interchangeable.

There are three points in a pendulum, i.e., centre of suspension, centre of gravity and centre of percussion. COP is a point on the pendulum where impulse causes zero translational acceleration at the pivot point. COS is just a hinge point. COP and COS are interchangeable for a compound pendulum and it is a unique property of a compound pendulum. Interchangeable means if we interchange their positions, the time period of the pendulum (which depends upon the distance between COS and COP) does not change. The same property is not found in the simple pendulum.

COP is called a sweet spot while analysing cricket bats.
