Both Ac and bc are same in magnitude (in opposite nature) as I understand.

If you take joint C wouldn't you get DC as equal to zero. Right?

Consider there is no CD link. ABC will Fall down.

So ABC is getting support with CD link. So CD will be in Tensile in nature.
