We know that efficiency of the simple gas turbine is.

(Work of turbine - Work of compressor) /Heat supply.

By intercooling,

The work net increases by decreasing the compressor work and automatically Heat supply is also increasing.
So work net and heat supply both are increasing then we can't comment on efficiency.
