I think specific gravity will not change in any condition. It will be remain constant.

Why are the specific gravity values are changed?

100% charged - 1.280.

75% charged - 1.240.

50% charged - 1.200 (1.19).

25% charged - 1.160.

Discharged - 1.120.

Automobile battery is lead acid battery its fully charged condition is about 1.29 26-30*temp.

I would like to know about this answer a little.? I have worked in a battery plant. Their we used to make batteries( home used). Their we used to take batter's specific gravity as 1.245+/- 0.005. at approx 27*c temp. and if I am wrong what is the specific gravity of a battery exactly?

Is their any difference b/w the automobile battery and the battery used in homes and all? if no then how come the 50% comes out to be 1.19?
