I agree, option B is the correct answer.

I agree B is the right answer.

The answer is B. Because the primary function of thermostat is allowing cooling water to move in to the radiator by opeing the main valve and closing by-pass valve when the water becomes hot.

But if the water is cold, thermostate closes main valve and closes by pass valve. So, the water turns back to the engine not going to radiator. Tham means it doesnot cool.

This indicates the engine warms quickly.

Thermostat's job is to block the flow of coolant to the radiator until the engine has warmed up. When the engine is cold, no coolant flows through the engine. Once the engine reaches its operating temperature (generally about 200° F, 95° C), the thermostat opens. By letting the engine warm up as quickly as possible, the thermostat reduces engine wear, deposits and emissions.

Thermostat used to maintain the engine near its optimum operating temperature by regulating the flow of coolant to an air-cooled radiator.

The thermostat is used in engine coolant system to open the cooling path during the engine operation when the prescribed temperature setpoint reached.

Perhaps the most common example of purely mechanical thermostat technology in use today is the internal combustion engine cooling system thermostat, used to maintain the engine near its optimum operating temperature by regulating the flow of coolant to an air-cooled radiator.

Thermostat is used to indicate temperatures and in automobile engine it is used to indicate colent temperature so answer is C.

The primary function of a thermostat is to maintain a minimum operating temperature in your car's engine. When you start your engine cold, the antifreeze/coolant mixture is kept within the engine by the thermostat. When the coolant temperature reaches the specified opening point of the thermostat, it opens.
