Baffle plate is used in the oil pan to negate the effect of vibration.

Usually, it is used in four wheeler. When a car is taking a turn or suddenly accelerating or decelerating oil will try to jump or lean to one side which can be prevented by using baffle plate.

An oil pan is typically provided with a baffle plate, which is used to eliminate entrapment of air in an oil strainer, such as a filtration oil filter, through oil inlets, as well as to prevent oil from sloshing around. Conventionally, the baffle plate is welded to the oil pan, or otherwise secured, together with the oil pan, to an engine block.

OIL PAN BAFFLE PLATE. When the vehicle is on the corner or the time of acceleration and deceleration, oil in the oil pan will lean or jump. To prevent these to happen, baffle is assembled in the pan of stock engine.
