"What is the purpose of the yard? As you guys said it is also used for measurement, but what we measure in that?".

A yard is used to measure distance and comes from the UK. It is almost the same length as a metre which has replaced it as a measure of distance.

1 mile = 1670 yards.

In the US the word yard is used instead of back garden. Parneeth is correct as it is also used in business to describe the land on which business is carried out. E. G. Scrap yard where waste metal is collected.

Both answers - B and C are correct.
B because A C and D measure distance, and B measures weight.
C because A B and D are imperial (UK origin) measurements and C is metric (French origin).

I believe that option C. is a valid answer, because, A., B., & D. are all standard measurment. C. is a metric measurement.

A yard is a unit of measurement.

I think the correct choice should have been centimeter. Centimeter is in the metric system. The other options are not.
