Why I think e is not correct.
Technology imparts to human labour.
That means human labour doesn't already or definitely have dignity and value. Technology gives those to human labour.
In a highly industrialized society, there is no essential difference between Brahmin and Dalit, Muslim and Hindu; they are equally useful and hence equally valuable for in the industrial society means industrial society is a great leveler of men.
Simple as that. I always try to follow what is supported very closely than what might be a possibility.

I believe "Option E is correct" cause the major portion of the paragraph speaks about how the industrial society is providing equal status to the people of the society irrespective of their social status.
Even when the first line is concerned it say "by-products of technology is the greater dignity and value that it imparts to human labour" which means its technology which is the by-product of industries gives dignity and value to labour.
So the whole para revolves around how industries levels the status of people. :).

My way of explaining why E is not correct. (Initially, I opted for "E") It is said that individual productivity ... fixes social status.
Thus, the industrial society per se is not a greater fixer/leveller. (*and even if it were - I guess the text should have another society being compared with industrial) When the level of your labour value is increasing due to your efforts - you are a leveller.
Your increased labour value equalizes you with someone who are having the same labour value.

"In a highly industrialized society, there is no essential difference between Brahmin and Dalit, Muslim and Hindu; they are equally useful and hence equally valuable for in the industrial society individual productivity fixes the size of the pay cheque and this fixes social status. ".
It clearly means "industrial society is a great leveller of men".

Option C is correct due to first line of the paragraph.
Option E incorrect because it is a premise that is not focus on the sole of the paragraph. For "greater leveler of men" does not best support the paragraph when it is primarily focused on humanitarian being the focus. "greater dignity and value that it imparts to human labour. ".

I also go with option e, cos last line of the statmnt says that in industrial society individual's prformance is directly proportional to ones status. N so the option e says, that industrial society is a leveller for ones status.

Industrial society is not great leveller of men as "individual productivity fixes the size of the paycheque and this fixes social status". But it was a very close option.

Option C is the right answer. Because its mentioned in the first sentence : by-products of technology is the greater dignity and value that it imparts to human labour.
