To forgive an injury is often considered to be a sign of weakness; it is really a sign of strength. The man who forgives an injury proves himself to be the superior of the man who wronged himself and puts the wrong-doer to shame.

I answered C because "BUT it takes a STRONG CHARACTER to restrain those natural passions" - not everyone has that, and therefore C is correct. And for D, forgiveness is not the same as mercy, also not all who forgive seek revenge, some just moved on.

It should be c because it is positive paragraph while mercy and revenge word cannot be used to describe the positivity.

D is the correct answer. C is vague and doesn't address the issue comprehensively.
