Each of the following questions contains a small paragraph followed by a question on it. Read each paragraph carefully and answer the question given below it.

7.
To forgive an injury is often considered to be a sign of weakness; it is really a sign of strength. It is easy to allow oneself to be carried away by resentment and hate into an act of vengeance; but it takes a strong character to restrain those natural passions. The man who forgives an injury proves himself to be the superior of the man who wronged himself and puts the wrong-doer to shame.

The passage best supports' the statement that:
the sufferer alone knows the intensity of his sufferings.
people tend to forgive the things happened in the past.
natural passions are difficult to suppress.
mercy is the noblest form of revenge.
a person with calm and composed nature has depth of thought and vision.

The answer should be C since the paragraph discussed the meaning of strength in light of surpassing natural passions. Understanding real strength within a person is acknowledging that one has to overcome his/her natural passion specially when it is being challenged by for instance injury. Hence, C is the answer because it supports the idea and context of strength in the given paragraph.

Hmm, I thought it showed character to forgive and strength I didn't realize we were talking about revenge, scarey truly I picked e because it showed the person is more intelligent shows more strength. A person with calm and composed nature has depth of thought and vision.

I answered C because "BUT it takes a STRONG CHARACTER to restrain those natural passions" - not everyone has that, and therefore C is correct. And for D, forgiveness is not the same as mercy, also not all who forgive seek revenge, some just moved on.

It has to be option D. The conclusion of the passage states the same. C is also correct but C is not describing the passage it is just describing a line but option D is summarizing the whole paragraph.

I think the answer is B because it mention that "The man who forgives an injury proves himself to be the superior of the man who wronged himself and puts the wrong-doer to shame."..

So true option D never be a answer I think option B is most suitable answer. Please comment on this as soon as possible.

It should be c because it is positive paragraph while mercy and revenge word cannot be used to describe the positivity.

Option D can never be a right choice as there is nothing discussed about revenge in the passage.

D is the correct answer. C is vague and doesn't address the issue comprehensively.
