Here it is not mentioned if Manmohan was invited. However it is said that people make it a point to go even if they are not invited. So the best answer should be there was a 'Puja' in Keshav's house.

That's what I thought as well. And I still think so too.
However, D would have been the right answer if it would have been framed something like -'Manmohan might have been invited my Keshav' because we don't know for sure whether he was invited or not.
And we directly cannot assume that he was invited regardless of the fact that Manmohan and Keshav are 'Official colleagues'.

I also feel that option c is correct

It is mentioned that puja is performed during puja days and manmohan visited keshav's house during puja days. So, we can conclude that puja is performed in keshav's house.

It is mentioned in the instruction that we do not have to resolve anything on our own.

Maybe Manmohan went to Keshav's house to make a point as stated in the question. So, D in my opinion can not be a right answer.

Moreover, option C says that Puja was performed in Keshav's house, it also does not points out that Manmohan went to his house as puja was performed there. Question only says that it was puja days not that puja was performed in Keshav's house. Even if it were puja performed in Keshav's house does not necessarily provoke Manmohan to visit there.

I think C is the closest answer. No where it is mentioned that where keshav has pooja in his house or manmohan was invited or not.

It's a HIGH ORDER THINKING QUESTION.

A. Keshav had invited Manmohan for some other function.
Cannot be 'A' as not mentioned anything about invitation.

B. Manmohan, being a religious man, went to Keshav's house uninvited.
Cannot be 'B' as not mentioned anything about being religious of Manmohan.

C. In Keshav's house, 'puja' was performed.

During 'puja days' it is not necessary that there will be puja at Keshav's house.
and it is not mentioned that there is puja in house.

D. Manmohan was invited by Keshav.
Not mentioned about any invitation.

So, best answer could be 'C' according a normal human brain.

But there is slightly more possibility of being Manmohan was invited because Option B is wrong as Manmohan cannot go uninvited.

So , Correct answer would be D.

Your thinking and explanation is wrong option C is the closest answer no arguments.

Agreed, option C is clearly the best answer to not make weird/crazy assumptions/deductions. It is the most logical one to follow, as the purpose of the question was.

If the option like either B or D then it would correct, but according to the present options C is the best answer.
