Statement: Apart from the entertainment value of television, its educational value cannot be ignored.
Assumptions:
- People take television to be a means of entertainment only.
- The educational value of television is not realised properly.
Answer: Option
Explanation:
The statement makes the first assumption clear though educational value is not to be ignored. So, I is implicit. That the educational value must not be ignored also shows that educational value is not realised properly. So, II is also implicit.

Only 2 is implicit.

1 is not implicit as people can either watch it for entertainment or for educational purposes. There is a choice between the two.

A/C to the statement provided.
educational value cannot be ignored,so which means it is being ignored, which clearly emphasise on the fact that, people consider TV only as a means of Entertainment.
And, since people take TV only as a means of entertainment, that's why, its educational value is not realized properly.
Hence, both the assumptions are implicit.

(I) is clearly wrong as statement is "its educational value can't be ignored '. So it means some people use it for educational purpose.
So (I) is against the implicit observation.
So (I) is against the implicit observation.

People take television to be a means of entertainment only. How can it be implicit. Nothing is clearly mentioned in the statement that people watch it only for entertainment. They can watch it for educational, entertainment or any other purpose too.
Why is Statement 1 implicit?
Why is Statement 1 implicit?

Its written that the educational value of television cannot be ignored which clearly implies that people are aware of those benefits so I is not implicit.

It is a general statement, that entertainment and educational benefits left to perception of individuals.

Its a general statement so only II is implicit, as far as I is concerned there is nothing been spoken about people.

(ii) is implicit and not one. The statement does not have the assumption that "people" watch television for entertainment value only. Some people can watch it for entertainment value and some can watch it for both 'entertainment' and 'educational value'. So, assumption I is very broad for unqualified use of word 'people'.
