Logical Reasoning - Statement and Assumption - Discussion

Discussion Forum : Statement and Assumption - Section 2 (Q.No. 3)
Directions to Solve

In each question below is given a statement followed by two assumptions numbered I and II. You have to consider the statement and the following assumptions and decide which of the assumptions is implicit in the statement.

Give answer

  • (A) If only assumption I is implicit
  • (B) If only assumption II is implicit
  • (C) If either I or II is implicit
  • (D) If neither I nor II is implicit
  • (E) If both I and II are implicit.

3.

Statement: "Computer education should start at schools itself."

Assumptions:

  1. Learning computers is easy.
  2. Computer education fetches jobs easily.

Only assumption I is implicit
Only assumption II is implicit
Either I or II is implicit
Neither I nor II is implicit
Both I and II are implicit
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Clearly, computer education can be started at the school level only if it is easy. So, I is implicit. In the statement, nothing is mentioned about the link between jobs and computer education. So, II is not implicit.

Here the point is its importance. Computer education is important to learn in schools itself. There is no point of easiness or fetching jobs. None of the options are implicit.

I have to agree with everyone here.

The answer should be D. If it was easy, it wouldn't need to be taught. Quantum Mechanics isn't easy, but guess where that's taught. The entire reason for going to school is to be taught something, easy or not.

Who says every taught in schools is easy?

The point of school is to challenge students and it is those challenges that teach lessons to students. One learns from failure as well, if it was all easy one would assume that no one would fail a thing. The answer is D.

If not then I assume that the person marking this answer had really easy teachers in school.

Nursery schools are also schools but one cannot add computers to their curriculum.

None of the statements are implicit.

Neither is implicit because it could also happen that it is important so it should be taught in schools. Not its easy.

Agree answer is D. Could argue that because learning computers is NOT easy we must start education in school.

I agree with the arguments of above guys. The answer should be "D".

Easy doesn't mean that it should be taught in school. No argument is implicit.

Calculus is also taught at schools, but that does not mean that it is easy. -_-.
