As per my understanding, Every third position is 4 and every number is added with 1 and 2 respectively.

Yes, It is Right Because Every 3rd Position 4 is repeat and the previous 2nd position always +1. So, I think 9 and 4 is the right answer.

Here is my explanation.
2 + 1 = 3(4)
3 + 2 = 5(4)
5 + 1 = 6(4)
6 + 2 = 8(4)
8 + 1 = 9(4).
