So as per my analysis, the sequence of the numbers is;

31-29 = -2,
29-24 = -5,
24-22 = -2,
22-17 = -5,
17-15 = -2.

I took just like this;
31 -24 = 7.
29-22 = 7.
So we had a common number 7 for the next series.
24 - 7 = 17.
22 - 7 = 15.

Here,

31-2 = 29,

So, 17 - 2 = 15 => The Answer.

Difference of 2 in first two digits.

Then difference of 5 in second and third digits.

The series follows the pattern 2, 5, 2, 5, and so on.
