First statement determines the relation between x and y.
The second statement determines the relation between y and z.
There is no such statement given which describes the relation between x and z.
Thus I choose the option: C.

If x<y and y<z or x>y and y>z then we say x<y<z or x>y>z (we have relation between x, y, z) but here x>y and y<z so we can't determine the relation between x, z without mentioning it.

The first statement gives relation between X AND y. The second statement gives relations between Z and y. So we do not have any certain realation between Z and X.
