# Logical Reasoning - Letter and Symbol Series - Discussion

Discussion Forum : Letter and Symbol Series - Type 2 (Q.No. 12)

*Directions to Solve*

Look carefully at the sequence of symbols to find the pattern. Select correct pattern.

12.

Answer: Option

Explanation:

Study the pattern carefully. In the first segment, two letters face right and the next two face left. The first letter in the second segment repeats the last letter of the previous segment. The same is true for the third segment. But the forth segment changes again; it is the opposite of the first segment, so the last two letters must face right.

Taken 2 by 2 the segments are mirrored at segment level and reversed at letter level:

SEG 1 | SEG 2 | SEG 2* | SEG 1*.

SEG 2* = SEG 2 reversed letters (NOT mirrored).

SEG 1* = SEG 1 reversed letters (NOT mirrored).

SEG 1 | SEG 2 | SEG 2* | SEG 1*.

SEG 2* = SEG 2 reversed letters (NOT mirrored).

SEG 1* = SEG 1 reversed letters (NOT mirrored).

Observe the 2nd and 4th segment. 1st fig in 2nd is the mirror image of 1st fig in 4th. Similarly remaining 3 fig in 2nd are the mirror image of remaining 3 in 4th.

Now, observe the 1st and 3rd segment. 1st and 2nd fig in 1st segment are the mirror images of 1st and 2nd fig in 3rd. Therefore, the remaining 2 fig in 1st should be the mirror image of the remaining 2 fig in 3rd. So, choose accordingly.

Take B as value 1 & "Turned B" as value 0,

Then By the Order,

1100 0111 1000 00??

....

The Above Series Looks like a Binary value for the Decimal Characters, Then for the unmentioned Value it'll come as 11, since 1100 0111 1000 0011

12 7 8 3
