Discussion Forum : Course of Action - Section 1 (Q.No. 42)
Directions to Solve

In each question below is given a statement followed by two courses of action numbered I and II. You have to assume everything in the statement to be true and on the basis of the information given in the statement, decide which of the suggested courses of action logically follow(s) for pursuing.

Give answer

  • (A) If only I follows
  • (B) If only II follows
  • (C) If either I or II follows
  • (D) If neither I nor II follows
  • (E) If both I and II follow.

Statement: One of the problems facing the food processing industry is the irregular supply of raw material. The producers of raw material are not getting a reasonable price.

Courses of Action:

  1. The government should regulate the supply of raw material to other industries also.
  2. The government should announce an attractive package to ensure regular supply of raw material for food processing industry.

Only I follows
Only II follows
Either I or II follows
Neither I nor II follows
Both I and II follow
Answer: Option
Clearly, to remedy the problem of food processing industry, a regular supply of raw material should be ensured. So, course II follows.

Why would the government interfere in the problems of private raw materials factory?

The cause is clearly mentioned that "The producers of raw material are not getting a reasonable price". And none of the option is providing solution to this problem. So answer should be [D] (I think).

The second line of the statement highlights the problem of the producers of raw materials as well. Therefore, we should include [A] in the answer (I think).
