Discussion Forum : Course of Action - Section 1 (Q.No. 11)
Directions to Solve

In each question below is given a statement followed by two courses of action numbered I and II. You have to assume everything in the statement to be true and on the basis of the information given in the statement, decide which of the suggested courses of action logically follow(s) for pursuing.

Give answer

  • (A) If only I follows
  • (B) If only II follows
  • (C) If either I or II follows
  • (D) If neither I nor II follows
  • (E) If both I and II follow.

11.

Statement: The sale of a particular product has gone down considerably causing great concern to the company.

Courses of Action:

  1. The company should make a proper study of rival products in the market.
  2. The price of the product should be reduced and quality improved.

Only I follows
Only II follows
Either I or II follows
Neither I nor II follows
Both I and II follow
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Clearly, a study of rival products in the market will help assess the cause for the lowering down of sales and then a suitable action can be taken. Thus, only I follow.

I think the answer is B.

According to rule of demand and supply the company should reduce the price of the product to increase the demand.

I think both are correct cos improving quality and reducing the price would increase the sells.

I also believe B to be the answer, because the problem is with the particular product, and not a road spectrum of products.

The sale will increase if the quality is improved. So why not the 2nd option?

I think the option 2 is also valid.

Both the points are valid because if they would reduce the price and would improve the quality then its sail may rise again.

I think both the options are correct because the first company will examine and then reduce the prices.

No, only A is correct as we cannot determine what to increase or decrease either the price or the quality. To make a decision we must study the product market views. So A is correct.
