Hard work gives you experience.
Smart work comes with experience.
There is no smart work without hard work.

Example:
When I started learning Java, I did hard work—practising daily, fixing errors.
That gave me experience.
Now, with that experience, I do smart work—write better code in less time.
So, smart work became possible because of hard work.

Hard work is analysis of problem with huge thinking or working.

Smart work: being silent and ruling at right time with right opportunity.

Hard work: being curious to get something and wasting blood for it without assuming the correct signal.
