Hard work takes more time hence you get exhausted and you may not achieve good results.
In smart work you work smartly with less time hence the chances of achieving good results increases.

Hardwork is a part of smart work, without hardwork there is no scope for smart work.
We can get experience through hardwork, which makes us to do same work smartly with more effectiveness.

In order to get an experience. I had to do hard work. But once I got experience I will turn to smart work. Without hard work we can't go to smart work. Based on situation whatever we need.

Hard work and smart work both connect to work but when we work by physical efforts then it called hard work and when we work by mental intelligence in short time then it called smart work.
