Women empowerment can never be a cause for increasing divorce rate in IN. Indians follow patriarchal pattern of society. From childhood whether it is a girl or boy we are told and have seen that tasks for a girl/boy or a women/ man were segregated rather on discriminative basis. We were brought up in a society where right from family to the politics every aspect is dominated by men. But today in the 21st century world is becoming liberal, equal opportunities are being given to both men and women. But somehow some orthodox people of this patriarchal society cannot digest the truth that women can be better than them and they can also be at the apex of every area. This insecurity among men and others who believe that men are superior and women are not is causing tension in the families and hence in the societies. With coming new changes in the world I think everyone should adapt with the new changes and new thoughts that is the only way we can live in a peaceful and prosperous society.

Certainly not. Instead, Women empowerment is the need of power. We live in a free country and most often talk about the right of freedom and equality. But we lose our ground when it comes to treating the women of our society in an equitable manner. Why so? The stigma and attitude which our society has, against women will take India nowhere. Rather India will be pushed back from where she is today. Women are the one who revivifies home, they are the ones who can take India to the next level where it aspires to reach. A better woman makes a better country.

Wrong Empowerment: Women are wrongly empowered.
Nature and evolution made women a caring and lovable being. Having child and nurturing them is her primal responsibility.
This millennial generation is about Individualism. Anyone can live alone independently.
Corporate culture at work gives a sense of empowerment. It's hire and fire methodology has imbibed into the family. When there is a problem in the relationship, instead of solving together they end up in divorce.
Women should be educated to run their family in the best way which in turn the society becomes better. A well-educated women with moral values can raise a child in a very good way than an employed women who sees her child occasionally.
Families are the building blocks of a society. Women are the backbone of a family. Wrong empowerment leads to lesser commitment and indirectly affects the stability of society.

I think the increased rate of divorce has no connection with women empowerment rather it is results of thoughtless marriages performed out of excitement and attraction rather than mutual understanding. Women empowerment has only strengthened the position of women's in Indian society which was previously male dominating. According to the Indian Constitution, every individual irrespective of its gender has all the rights to enjoy the freedom and should be valued equally. I think women empowerment has boosted equality among Indian society.

Empowerment means giving power or authority to take independent decisions in order to authorise something. Which is not seen in the case of "Women Empowerment".
There are two faces of coin in women empowerment i.e. professional & personal life.
Talking about the professional life, in our society "Women development" has been treated as " Women empowerment" over the decades. Giving the opportunities to the women of the society to do what a man does, it doesn't empower them. It could be a step towards the development of women in our society. The question arises here - "Why there is a sudden need of women empowerment". There should be justice to the implementation of it. There are many sectors where women in the 21st century aren't treated equally. Before thinking of empowerment, equality has to be taken care in all perspectives. The ratio of female to male is always less in all the fields. This shows we haven't reached the level of equality. The reason of inequality isn't the incapability of a woman always. It's the partial preference chosen by the authority. To attain equality they should define certain ratio which encourages the female candidates to show & enhance their skills. Being judgemental towards the capability of a woman in any field is a hindrance to their development. But many workplaces do not encourage the participation of women in the field of work. Talking about job opportunities few advertisements are meant for only "male candidates". This gender-biased shouldn't be encouraged. Governments have been doing good about it. Few more steps could get us close to empowerment.
Talking about the personal life of a woman. The empowerment not only needed in professional life but also plays a vital role in personal life. A woman is always considered to be "a dependent" on a male whether it's a father or husband for taking their decisions. Also, considered to sacrifice if needed and to do house chores in rural & sometimes in urban areas too. The question arises here -"Is this the reason for male dominating society". A woman should be taken as a perfect example of someone who can play both the roles whether it's personal or professional. To change this mindset every woman on their has to take initiative to let the people around them know that - "what they do at home is a choice not because they have to or not capable of doing other things". Women empowerment could be one of the reasons for divorce not letting your better half grow. But its definitely not the only reason for increasing divorce rate in India.

First of all, Women Empowerment encourages them to take initiative for them. In the past, women were forced to live inside the house, can't get educated, have to put a long veil on her face, were not allowed to speak to male members, were not allowed to take any decisions. They were living like a maid who only had to work in the kitchen. Nothing else, But now the time is changed. They can speak up for their rights. They can take their own decisions. They can make them educated. They have the right to do something for themselves. So, if you say women empowerment is a cause for divorce. I do not agree with this. It is happening because of not spending quality time with each other. They are not have a good conversation. Also, because of misunderstandings!

It is very serious and important matter in the present time.
Women empowerment means -' Encouraging women for their rights and making them self-dependent. It also helps in the overall development of women.
Govt takes many steps and schemes for women empowerment like " Beti bachao betu padho yojana, Kanya samerdhi yojana, apke beti hamre beti. ".
If we show in every field like politics, sports, defense and education women are doing very well. PV Sindhu and Hima das in sports are doing well. Nirmal siraman nad Dropadi murumu doing well in poltics. So many women are in high posts in business like CEOs and directors .
We should encourage women in every field.
In rural areas, parents understand and encourage women in different fields.
If we know that men and women are an equal parts in progression in society then why we can't encourage women? And why do we suppress women's voices?
Thank You.

Hello everyone.
Women empowerment is not a cause for a number of divorce in India. Which women is capable to handle family and office work both that women having excellent capabilities. Divorce rate increase by their personal understanding between husband and wife. There is no such relation to her employment. If bounding is not good between them then it doesn't matter that women are employed or unemployed. The employee's woman is also supported to development of our country. Our country is male dominated country. Here senior citizen doesn't allow to women to go.
Aside from their home for job purpose. Think about it if only half population of our country work then how it becomes developed.

Due to women empowerment they become more stable, independent and it is obvious that she would require respect from her husband and family. But if the family is of backward thinking and have a view that women are made for household work then it can lead to conflicts and sometimes divorce. But that does not mean that women empowerment is not to be supported, women have their fundamental rights and has to be treated equally in the society as men, what has to be changed is mentality of people.

I absolutely don't agree with women empowerment being one of the factors behind increased divorce rate. According to me, divorce has nothing to do with women empowerment. Women empowerment is about strengthening women. It's about educating women. It's about giving equal space in everything be it studies or freedom or many such things. Also educating a woman is not just restricted to that one single person, it's indirectly about educating a whole new generation because she is the one who will strengthen the basic education of her child. Every woman is the backbone of her family. Talking about divorce it's because of lack of mutual trust and desire to solve the problem by having a one to one conversation. If a husband and a wife don't want to get divorced they will automatically try to look for ways to settle the matter. They'll continuously try to look for common grounds. Who doesn't have differences? But divorce is not the solution. I feel these two are entirely different subjects and I personally don't think women empowerment has got anything to do with the increased divorce rate.
